AIBC Thailand provides a range of ancillary services

designed to meet the wide-ranging needs of students and families

Entrance Test Invigilation

The vast majority of international students applying to study in the U.K. need to sit entrance tests before they can receive an offer. In most cases and subject to the entry year level, applicants are tested in two or three subject areas; English, Maths and Non-Verbal Reasoning (NVR). AIBC Thailand can arrange for applicants to sit the tests at the AIBC Office, under strict exam conditions, and then scan/send the results back to the partner school for marking.

U.K. Guardianship Appointment

All boarding schools in the U.K. now make it a condition of admission that any overseas student must have a U.K. based educational guardian in place. A guardian is an adult or company tasked with acting on behalf of the student’s parents and ensuring they are provided with a secure, friendly and stable environment in which to live and study. AIBC Thailand has partnered with Living Learning English Guardians (LLEG) to oversee guardianship matters for all our students. LLEG is accredited by the Association for the Education & Guardianship of International Students (AEGIS), an independent organisation providing a forum for best practice and carries out inspections in accordance with a strict Code of Practice and current child care legislation. LLEG’s responsibilities cover the sourcing and appointment of qualified host families, co-ordinating logistical arrangements over exeat weekends/half-term or full-term holiday breaks, undertaking in-person visits every term, attending parent-teacher interviews upon request and keeping AIBC Thailand staff updated on each and every student’s welfare at all times. LLEG’s top priority is to ensure that students are safe, happy and making good personal and academic progress.

Thai Guardianship

For a nominal fee, AIBC Thailand offers a Thai Guardianship package for students and their families at the ‘home’ end each term. The package is designed to support families and complements our many years of experience. The range of services includes the translation of school reports into Thai, co-ordinating flight bookings and airport transfer arrangements (half-term and end of term), acting as a liaison between the school, U.K. guardian and family on academic and welfare matters, advising on GCSE and A Level subject choices and assisting with university applications.

School Visits

We are always pleased to organise school visit itineraries for prospective families keen to see a typical UK Boarding School in action. Introductory meetings with the Head of School, Admissions Team and Boarding House staff can also be arranged. A list of pertinent questions to ask during each school visit can be provided to ensure that families are fully equipped when they reach the decision-making stage.

Interview Preparation

AIBC Thailand offers complimentary coaching sessions for students preparing to enter top-tier schools that require applicants to attend in-person interviews. The sessions cover a wide range of topics and also include body language, posture and tips on how to respond to challenging questions. Recently, we have successfully assisted Thai students with their interview preparation go on to receive offers to CharterHouse, Cheltenham Ladies College, St Edwards Oxford, Tonbridge, Malvern College and Brentwood School.
